Planning Applications
The Planning team at Mid Devon District Council has responsibility for managing planning applications and for making the decision on whether to grant permission or not, as well as participating in any planning appeal. You can comment on planning applications and look up the District Council’s by clicking here.
Search by entering a keyword, reference number, postcode or single line of an address. There will be a deadline for comments which will be shown in the associated documentation.
Roads
The Highways team at Devon County Council has responsibility for managing and maintaining the roads. This includes potholes, bridges, street lights, blocked drains and flooded roads, overgrown vegetation, fallen trees, trip hazards and broken manhole covers. You can report problems on the website by clicking here.
If the problem you wish to report is not listed and the Report a Problem website, you can contact Devon County Council’s Customer Service Centre on 0345 155 1004.
Waste and Recycling
For general information on recycling and rubbish, including collection dates, click here.
The Street Scene team at Mid Devon District Council has responsibility for dealing with waste and dog bins, fly tipping, litter and recycling. You can report problems, order recycling boxes etc by clicking here.
Residents are able to recycle small electrical items via their kerbside collection. For more information please refer to the Mid Devon website here.
Speeding vehicles through Chawleigh village

Signpost problems
During your walks, if you see any problems on public right of way (PROW) footpaths or bridleways e.g. missing/broken signpost or gate, please report it via this link. It is useful to take a picture to upload to the site.
